Whenever your child’s teacher posts something new or posts a new announcement for the class, your child will receive an email to notify them about this announcement. Anyways, thanks for reading my rant (good+bad) about the app. Even though it has like 1.5 stars, it’s not true and is a very good app for schools and classes.
However, you can create a search engine that will only search websites of your choice like NASA and other space websites. Your data will return content that is only related to your needs. This is great when you want to teach your students how to search in Google, but are worried about content that is not educational. Check out the Custom Search I created below for this website.
Get started with Classroom for students
Your teacher might post announcements or classwork notifications. Some teachers let students post or comment on the Stream page. I like this app for the purpose of keeping my self and my students oranginized . I just wish there was a notifications tab so all new notifications can be viewed in one spot. I get a lot of notifications and sometimes I belive I lose track of some of them. If we can see all the notifications and check off the ones we definitely got to I may feel more comfortable about not skipping or missing something important.
The feature was added last week, so there is very little information on it. I did play with it some, and it looks like the teacher needs to manually add a parent email to the student. Once that is done they will get an email with a listing of the assignments posted. A classroom portal is a webpage that is most often set up through your school district's website and can be a vital form of student-teacher communication.

Students can open their assignments and work on them right from their iPhone or iPad. Teachers can keep track of who has turned in work and grade the assignment - at school or on the go. The UI is not the same as the Desktop web app when it comes to adding comments to turned in items.
There are so many websites and apps that can be used along with Google Classroom. These will partner with Google, but some will be considered add-ons. These will be available in the Chrome Store. Using these apps will make the class more fun and interactive.
Teachers can add students directly or share a code with their class to join. Also, I can't open my Google classroom rn because the app crashed and when I try to open it, it doesn't open. I tried opening it again but it still won't open. Google Custom Search- You can create a search engine that will search only sites you want searched. For example, if you put in "stars" in the normal Google search box you would get tons of websites not related to the stars in the sky.
I normally check out what is new at least once a month if not more often. Google Docs- Sharing documents with students and colleagues to collaborate on projects. It is free and then you will have a login for all of the Google tools and applications.
